Janis B.

Janis is a former junior Australian High Jump Champion and Sydney AFL Captain, Best & Fairest Winner and Team of the Year Representative. He is currently serving his 10th year as a Fire Fighter for Fire & Rescue NSW and is the creator of FDPT - Fitness Development and Personal Training.

Janis began his career as an FDPT Outdoor Group Trainer in Yarranabbe Park, Darling Point. He then expanded into the corporate sector as a health and fitness trainer/educator for multinational and national companies such as Microsoft, Steinhoff, NBN, Lion Nathan and Hamilton Island.

In 2016, Janis led the Sydney Opera House “Sunrise on the Steps” health and fitness community initiative which earned him a feature article in GQ Australia Online. Janis was also Head Trainer at the newly established F45 Woolloomooloo, which prior to his departure in November was awarded the Best Up and Coming F45 studio in NSW for its exercise delivery and fun atmosphere.

Janis is also a graduate from the newly founded STAGES Academy. He is the first in Australia to receive this competency which incorporates the FMS - Functional Movement Screen, corrective strategies for joint mobility and stability, fundamentals of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and biomechanics, foundational barbell strength training, muscle growth, athletic power and performance and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) for providing the greatest cardiovascular conditioning benefit without sacrificing improvements in strength and power.

Coupled with his major in Psychology from the University of Sydney, Janis provides a highly educational approach that utilises behavioural change techniques within a clients training program that not only inspires but also empowers them with the inner discipline necessary to take full ownership of their health and fitness lifestyle and ambitions in the future.

All of Janis’s Clients receive a periodised, purpose-driven training schedule that contains:

  • an FMS with corrective strategies to overcome asymmetrical or dysfunctional movement patterns;

  • Home Exercise Programs for non-trainer days;

  • Bi-weekly Daily Action Plans to help build success;

  • Self-cueing, training log and programming tools;

  • Education on goal setting, periodisation and execution of training protocols; and

  • Continual nutrition and lifestyle support and coaching.


Sarah K.

Sarah is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Pilates Instructor, Personal Trainer and owner of SK Active in Sydney. She has over 8 years experience in the health and fitness industry and now specialises in womens health conditions (including PCOS, IVF, amenorrhea and pre/post natal exercise), functional strength and conditioning, as well as restorative exercise programs for those recovering from illness or injury.

Her aim is to help her clients balance their hormones, maintain a healthy weight, and achieve optimal wellbeing through appropriate exercise, stress management techniques and tailored nutrition advice.

In addition, Sarah also works in mental health at Northside clinic, providing exercise sessions and personalised programs to clients receiving treatment for depression, anxiety, drug or alcohol dependency, as well as eating disorders. Extensive research shows that exercise is an effective therapy for many mental health conditions, helping to improve mood, motivation, and physical wellbeing without the side effects that many medications have. She believes that mental health is just as important as physical health and is passionate about helping her clients achieve an active lifestyle that supports recovery.

Sarah’s mantra is that exercise should be fun and functional, and an integral part of your life without being the sole focus. She leads by example and on her days off can be found practicing yoga or Pilates, going for walks along the coast and catching up with friends. She is also well known for creating delicious healthy recipes, which she regularly posts on her blog.

As an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Sarah is able to provide Medicare and Private Health rebates for all her sessions, with each client receiving a personalised home program, dietary advice and lifestyle coaching to support their training.
